Roast Beef Sandwich Au Jus
Description
A simple, classic sandwich with a tasty dipping sauce great for lunch or supper on a busy night.Ingredients

1 loaf (12 ounces) good Italian bread
1 pound leftover or quality deli roast beef, sliced thin
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1 1/2 cups More Than Gourmet Ready-to-Use Beef Stock (or use a generous tablespoon of Glace de Viande Gold® dissolved in 1 1/2 cups hot water)
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 pound leftover or quality deli roast beef, sliced thin
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1 1/2 cups More Than Gourmet Ready-to-Use Beef Stock (or use a generous tablespoon of Glace de Viande Gold® dissolved in 1 1/2 cups hot water)
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Methods/steps
- Preheat the oven to broil. Cut the bread loaf in half horizontally, place the halves on a baking sheet cut side up, and toast them in the oven until light brown, 1 to 2 minutes.
- Spread the horseradish on the bottom half of the loaf, then layer on the roast beef.
- Mix the stock and Worcestershire sauce in small bowl to form the au jus. Baste the top half of bread with 1/4 cup au jus. Place top half of the bread over the roast beef to complete sandwich. Cut the sandwich in quarters and serve with the remaining au jus for dipping.
