Our Dijon Mustard Wine Sauce balances the tangy strength of Dijon mustard with the terrific taste of whole grain mustard. The flavour of the mustards is enhanced by wine, cream, and shallots to create a versatile sauce that brings out the best in a variety of dishes including grilled sausages and game, roast chicken, smoked salmon, and an array of vegetables from green beans to creamed onions.

Meats: Serve with beef, veal, lamb, pork, sausages, and with cured meats such as smoked ham or corned beef.

Game: Serve with all types of game including venison, rabbit, and wild boar.

Poultry: Serve with chicken, duck, or turkey.

Seafood: Serve with baked, grilled, or poached fish and shellfish, and with cured fish such as gravlax or smoked trout. Dijon Mustard Wine Sauce also makes a flavorful topping for crab, fish, or shrimp cakes.

Vegetables: Serve with green beans, potatoes, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, roasted root vegetables-and as a deliciously different dipping sauce for French fries or as an addition to creamed onions.

Additions: Add a twist to Dijon Mustard Wine Sauce by adding a small amount of one of the following:
  • Honey or maple syrup
  • Spirits such as brandy or whiskey
  • Sherry
  • Mashed roasted garlic
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Chopped fresh herbs such as dill, parsley, thyme, rosemary, sage, and chives
  • Horseradish
  • Cooked fruit or jam such as apricot jam, cranberry sauce, or sautéed diced apples
Microwave Preparation* (DO NOT HEAT ON HIGH):
Method One: Place unopened pouch in microwave. Heat on Medium for 8–12 sec. (15–20 sec. for 2). If pouch is not hot, heat on Medium for 5–8 sec. more. Let stand 10–30 sec. Shake and serve.

Method Two: Empty sauce into microwave safe container. Cover with paper towel and heat on Medium for 8–12 sec. If sauce is not hot, heat on Medium for 5–8 sec. more. Let stand 10–30 sec. Stir and serve.

*Directions are based on 1100 watt oven. Heating times may vary depending on your equipment.

Stovetop Preparation: Place unopened pouch into simmering water for 5 minutes. Carefully remove pouch from water and serve.
