Red Wine Shallot Sauce
This Sauce is Gluten Free
& All Natural. Red wine, stock, shallots, and butter come together with a little French know how in our Red Wine Shallot Sauce. Seasoned with thyme and cracked pepper, this simply exquisite sauce makes a superb accompaniment to meats and game, from meatballs to tenderloin, as well as chicken, duck, or turkey.
Poultry: Serve with duck, chicken, and turkey.
Pastas and Grains: Serve with pastas or grain-centered dishes that include meat, game, poultry, or full-flavored cheeses such as blue cheese or aged Gouda.
Additions: Add a twist to Red Wine Shallot Sauce by stirring in a small amount of one of the following:
- Sautéed mushrooms
- Blue cheese
- Fortified wines including Port, Madeira, or Marsala
- Caramelized onions
- Mashed roasted garlic
- Crumbled cooked bacon
- Dijon mustard
- Puréed or whole raspberries, cherries, or blackberries-or raspberry, cherry, blackberry, or plum jam (great with pork or duck)
- Cracked peppercorns
- Chopped fresh herbs such as parsley, chives, thyme, or rosemary
Method One: Place unopened pouch in microwave. Heat on Medium for 8–12 sec. (15–20 sec. for 2). If pouch is not hot, heat on Medium for 5–8 sec. more. Let stand 10–30 sec. Shake and serve.
Method Two: Empty sauce into microwave safe container. Cover with paper towel and heat on Medium for 8–12 sec. If sauce is not hot, heat on Medium for 5–8 sec. more. Let stand 10–30 sec. Stir and serve.
*Directions are based on 1100 watt oven. Heating times may vary depending on your equipment.
Stovetop Preparation: Place unopened pouch into simmering water for 5 minutes. Carefully remove pouch from water and serve.
