Mushroom Swiss Burger
Using Wicked Juicy Burger Beef
Mushrooms and beef are a classic combo. Here we pair them with Swiss cheese to make a hearty, flavorful burger that will become your new favorite.
1 pound ground beef
2-3 tablespoons Wicked Juicy Burger Beef
½ teaspoon ground black pepper, plus additional for mushrooms
1 tablespoon butter
8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon vegetable oil (if frying the burgers)
4 slices Swiss cheese
4 slices Swiss cheese4 hamburger buns
Combine meat,Wicked Juicy Burger Beef, and pepper in a large bowl. Lightly mix with your hands or a spatula until well blended. Divide meat into four equal portions and gently form each into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. (Do not compact the patties or handle them more than necessary.)
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and onion, season with salt and pepper and sauté until onions are translucent and juices released by the mushrooms have cooked off, about five to seven minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Pan fry patties in vegetable oil over medium-high heat, or grill or broil them to your preferred doneness. When burgers are almost done, lay the Swiss cheese slices over them to melt. Place burger on bun and top with mushroom onion mixture to complete your mushroom Swiss burger.
