Inside Sales Representative

Maintain and expand MTG revenue with assigned existing customers and leads. The position is vital to MTG’s continued growth and prosperity.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Engages in outbound telephone calls to assigned existing accounts and assigned leads.
  • Proactively seeks to increase business with existing customers by expanding product mix.
  • Achieves trial purchases, and repeat orders (retention) with leads as assigned.
  • Effectively uses MTG customer incentive programs to grow sales.
  • Accurately enters orders into the E21 operating system on a consistent basis. Sends order acknowledgements to designated accounts.
  • Updates / maintains customer records with correct contact information and keeps detailed customer notes for each transaction on all accounts.
  • Proactively expands personal knowledge of MTG products, policies and procedures, MTG markets, consumer trends, food knowledge and cooking skills.
  • Quickly engages inbound calls and processes orders and/or addresses inbound inquiries.
  • Supports and services, any new customer sold by company outside sales organization.
  • Prospects new business consistent with assigned leads.
  • Addresses customer questions and complaints in a timely, professional manner keeping the customers concerns in mind while holding firm to company policies.
  • Performs other job-related duties as may be assigned or required.
  • Full and consistent support for customers serviced by the outside sales team.


Preferred Background and Skill Set

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous sales experience.
  • Competency in using MS Outlook, Word, and Excel as well as ERP system (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Capacity to work with a minimum degree of oversight and a high degree of productivity.
  • Reliable, dependable, with a “team player” orientation.
  • Maintain existing customers and expand their product purchases.
  • Ability to gain new customers.
