Lemon Jasmine Rice

A very simple, yet elegant side dish--fragrant jasmine rice lightly flavored with lemon and cooked in our savory chicken stock. It's the perfect complement for chicken, fish, or vegetables.


  • 2 cups jasmine rice
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • Finely grated zest of 1 lemon
  • 3/4 ounce Fond de Poulet Gold® dissolved in 4 cups hot water
  • 1 tablespoon snipped fresh chives
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Place the rice in a sieve and rinse it with cold water, rubbing the rice grains together with your fingers, until the rinse water is no longer cloudy.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the lemon zest and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add the diluted Fond de Poulet Gold®, turn the heat to high and bring to a boil. Add the rice and stir to combine. Turn the heat to low and simmer, covered, until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed, about 15 minutes.
  3. Let the rice stand 5-10 minutes.  Gently stir in the chives and season to taste with salt and pepper.
